Overview
Some links/locations where I’ve ordered (or plan to order) parts for bikes. Working from Irish base with regard to finding good solutions regarding shipping, currency, etc.,
- https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/
- Northern Irish chain, now part of Wiggle, and depending on what you order goods can come from either location. Prices decent, range pretty good. Have ordered a full bike from them, and also various components and bits. Shipping free after a certain level, and generally very very fast (to ROI at least).
- German seller of bikes and bike parts. Prices sometimes very good, sometimes just ok. e.g. ABUS locks were very much cheaper than from UK/Irish suppliers. Shipping a bit slower than Chain Reaction, but not bad. Bought components a few times, and shipping worked out about EUR10 per package.
- Northern Irish clothing supplier. Free shipping mostly. Prices decent and the products themselves good to very good (e.g. the Mistral Pro jacket is really excellent IME). Shipping very quick, returns can be sent to a Republic of Ireland address if you’re in Ireland, and are handled very smoothly.
- All sorts of sports gear, including cycling gear. Can be very cheap for many items. Generally better prices, and much better range, to order from the .co.uk site rather than the .ie site, and then get delivered via Parcel Motel in NI. Haven’t ordered big items, but did order things like merino-wool base layers and cycling shorts (the basic cycling shorts are well under a tenner, and really decent for commuting riding)
Shops I haven’t bought from (yet), but which look worth keeping in list:
